climbling towerAt Low Mill we have two options for rock climbing. Climbing on our climbing tower on site (most suited to primary schools), or driving to one of the local climbing crags to climb on real rock (most suited to secondary schools).

Our climbing tower is set up with climbing routes of varying difficulty, from easy to difficult, which allows us to tailor the activity to the needs and abilities of your group. During a climbing tower session, the group will normally be taught to belay for each other, and this allows all the participants to experience being in a position of great trust and responsibility.

For local crag climbing sessions we normally visit either Twistleton Scars or Downholm Quarry, as both of these venues provide rock climbs of suitable difficulty to be easy enough for novices, and difficult enough to challenge experienced climbers. They are both approximately 30 minutes drive from Low Mill.

Our crag climbing days are always subject to suitable weather conditions.crag climb
